Line-up

Turn Back, the band's third studio album is an attempt to return to the traditional sextet style, and it was a more consistent, more powerful album with a sharper edge. Its edgier sound was indicative of the maturation of group and featured drummer Bobby Kimball's improved proficiency on the drums, as well as an improved, mature vocal delivery from singer Joseph Williams. David Paich's keyboard work was also more sophisticated, sharper, and less derivative on previous recordings.
